structure scan has a contrast setting, which can be adjusted up and down depending on the depth of water on how you want to see the picture and what pallette color you are using. i found that the pallette color caused me in many cases to change my contrast, due to the way i see the pallette, everyones eyes are different i believe. also the depth of water caused me to change the contrast, but again i am just learning as well.

the more you play or work with any unit the better you will get at it, so practice, practice. is the key, and read all you can and ask as many questions and you can think of

give us some feedback on how to see "FISH" on the si and what you look for in identifying them. do you use auto or manual set the distance?

I usually just use the manual or less distance on the side scan. using more distace doesn't seem to help much.
