Your pics look great. I'll have to mess with the sonar some, I just haven't had the time.

I took this pic a couple of weeks ago.

I'm still tring to figure out the GPS some. Marking waypoints is pretty easy but going back to them is a little iffy. I was expecting to have a screen like on my Garman e-trex, an arrow in a dial telling me which way to turn and somewhere it giving an estimated distance to the way point. OF course I could be missing something too. In this pic I was just trying to manuever the boat over the waypoints....there has to be something better.

Just took the HDS-7s out for a little test run. I liked the HDS-5's but wow, I Love the 7's. Great shot Crappiemax!

Crappiegirl, here's some fishID shots I did for you today. Did you go into the settings on your HDS-7 and select the Transducer model that you have?

thanks mduncan, your a great guy. the "blobs" next to the fish symbol or near a fish symbol--do you think that is fish as well. i get the same on mine. i have found that with surface clutter set on high i get a much better clearer background in my structure scan . have you tried that, it makes a big difference.
i was really looking forward to getting some great shots today on a very clear lake i trailored to, but the deepest part of the lake was 6 foot, nothing but grass 4 of it and no bream today (gills or shellies) little scouting trip got me a totally torched stainless prop, on a shoal------------jwould have taken a pic of that, but i was smoking mad at myself-----------never in my life have i done that and i been running a boat since i was 12---course im only 21 now lol

the pics are great thanks keep em coming. did you catch any of those ?what do you think they were? speck i would say

Caught a few, and they were crappie. I need to buy some trolling rigs, that would have been the ticket on those suspended crappie.

you should have the tan, if not i would call lowrance. i have no problem getting them on the phone----14 for sonar is way more than i have---------something not quite right. have you done all the upgrades?

this is a question for lowrance, but i will give you my own personal experiences if you want to try. if your boat sits, down in the transom very far, then, the mounting of the transducer needs to be on a small angle to allow for that. it needs to be mounted so it is parallel with the bottom once one the boat how it sits in the water.
    this may help your problem.
i do get bottom readings while moving slow. my bottom readings start to go about 1/2 throttle. almost all of my finders in the past that has been the case. lowrance may have a solution to that, i just havent gotten that far yet. i have , however, been very happy with the down on the structure scan staying on the screen at full speed. good trade off! i split the screen with the sonar and structure scan
