Very nice. Awesome screen shot.
Dropped branch overboard.
Very nice. Awesome screen shot.
Looks like the Down Sensitivity was set too high. Try imaging it again but with a lower setting.
Thankyou Greg,i'll try that tommorrow, every little bit of info helps.
When i come into shallow water say 3to 4 ft,the display jumps to 16ft then 19ft etc blinking back and forward ,when i go back out into deeper water i have to switch off and reset to get going again?Thankyou.
Hey great to have you from Ireland kenny12., Greg is that the norm on the Shallow water on kenny12 "s or is that something to adjust by him or in the Df that needs to be looked at by HB ? thinking of getting a DI and want to learn all I can before all the $$$$$$ , lol Thanks

I am having the same thing happen with my 596c HD DI as kenny12. When in shallow water, appx. 4-6 ft. it sometimes starts flashing random depths, like 200-300 ft. and I have to turn it off and it will usually reset itself. It doesn't happen every time but enough to be annoying.
Transducer is on my trolling motor. Is anyone else having this happen? The clarity of this thing is amazing, you talk about seeing whats down there this thing will show it to you.
You guys with the shallow water reading issues on the new DI units:
Your next time out try to move into shallow water again without using the trolling motor and see if it works any better or worse. I just want to make sure that it is not trolling motor interference related. Also try setting the Water Type menu to the “Saltwater” menu setting and see if that helps. I make have to see if someone can make a short Sonar Recording and send it into Engineering to look at. Just make sure you don’t have a second sonar unit on when in shallow water.
Would the DI unit monted on the jackplate interfere with the trolling motor unit? I have never had this happen before with regular sonar.
Thanks Greg, I will try this next time out.
I have the 597 on the trolling motor(mg) and was having interference problems. It worked fine in 18 to 20 ft of water but when I move to 15 ft and less of water it went haywire. I put p 11 power cable on and there was alot of improvement untill I got into 4 to 6 ft of water then it would mess up again. I then put a piece of rubber between the transducer and the trolling motor and that took care of the problem. It works fine now. I tried these cures from reading other post on interfence problems. The other thing I noticed that if you move the trolling motor to fast it will mess up but I'm still learning how to use it so that might be normal. this is a picture from the first time I used it.
