Default 13,617 cc members...how many are hb owners..??

I noticed when I logged on tonight that crappie.com has 13,617 members....

I wonder how many of those members log on...go directly to their state forum...and never browse thru the "Electronics" forum....

If you know a member like this in your state forum and they are a HB "Donut" hater...send them here to the "Project HB Donut" thread....where maybe they will support our "movement"...

We need all the help we can get....

I love my 898.... but yes.. I wish the donut was fixed. A GPS that can give you less than 2 foot accuracy should be good enough to track at speeds less than .5 mph. Hopefully they will change the software.

What I would REALLY love is if they would put thr readout on the bottom of the screen on the 898 like they do the 1198. That has to be easy to do.

Great post. I posted a couple of weeks ago that I am in need of a new HB unit for my front deck so that I can use interlink from my HB997 and the only reason I'm reluctant to buy one is because of the dreaded donut - that is an $800 sale lost for them.

As impressed as I have been with my HB, the firmware updates they have provided- including adding DI to the 997 at no charge, and the great customer service they provide in general, it is mind boggling to me that they are willing to lose business over this donut issue. Of course, I am assuming that it could be fixed with a firmware update. I have a Garmin handheld, a Delorme handheld and also an Eagle(Lowrance) GPS on my boat and none of them have this problem, what is the deal?

Hey Release to the Grease....Your story above is exactly what "Project HB Donut" needs... to help in the "movement" to get this "Donut" fixed.....

Would you please, please, please take 10 minutes of your time and send HB an email and tell them word for word what you just posted here....

Your story could quite possibly get sent into the "halls of HB" where (maybe) the right boss could see and finally realize that HB is losing BIG money to Lowrance simply because of the "Donut"...

I guarantee you Humminbird WILL fix this "Donut" if they see enough $$ going to the competition...

Here is a link to HB "Contact Us" page.......Contact Support

From all HB owners that despise the "Donut" (and maybe you in the future)...."Project HB Donut" thanks you and I personally thank you...

Actually Allen I dropshot and spoon fish for a living almost. When I a motionless I get a donut. When I move I get an arrow. I have multiple way points marking the outside edges of the structure I am fishing. If I stay inside the way points I'm on target. If I am outside I troll back into the cluster of way points. I don't troll at .5mph so bass guys don't have an issue like alluded above. I have fwd'd this post to the powers that be at Humminbird in hopes that they will accommodate your needs.

Mike, I fish a lot of small brush piles and other small structure. I have tried to stay on them without throwing a bouy but just cant tell which way I need to go without getting above .5 mph and when the icon reappears if I am not going the right way then i am way of the spot. I try to keep the donut centerd on the waypoint icon but I cant tell which way I need to bump the TM to hold.

The donut deal is not a deal breaker for me, I get around it .

It is a deal breaker for me and several of the people I fish with. A 2000 buck sonar should not need a 5.00 buoy marker to tell where you stays. I get around it too. I got a garmin.

I just want the problem fixed so I don't haveta haul extra stuff to the boat every time I go out. 2+ years and still complaining.

I have called plenty times about the donut. I bet you all know this though.
