I called myself looking through this thread and I can seem to find the answer to my question. I was wandering if anyone knows if the HB 597ci HD DI will work with the HB interlink ? This might be directed at Doug or Greg

    thanks

Viewing the interlink on hb.com there is no 500 series listed "for use with". If this isn't a typo, then I'd say no.

From what I'm reading here it would seem you need both on the TM when spider-rigging. my ? is will there be any interference between the 2 or is the freqs so different as to not interfere.

I've never experienced interference. They don't have a large cone as with 2d from my understanding.

I went to Bass Pro Shop last night with full intentions on buying the mark 5 x dsi (gray scale unit) I asked the salesman if this particular unit would show pvc attractors and he was unsure because it is analog can someone verify this? Will it show pvc attractors or not?

HB SI units use 1 xducer for SI, DI, and 2d...

I am getting ready to order the Hbird down imaging and this is the last piece of information that I am curious about.
    Fish Assassin,
If a tree was on the left side of the boat and showed in the DI sonar, you would not know whether the tree was directly under the transducer, to the left of the transducer or to the right of the transducer. All you would know is that the tree was within XX number of feet of the transducer based on the width of the sonar beam and the water depth. This is the same with conventional 2D sonar. To know whether the tree was to the right or left of the transducer, you would need a transducer with multiple beams such as the QuadraBeam or better yet: Side Imaging sonar.
