    Default Red Neck Auto Pilot

I have been working on this homemade auto pilot for a few months. It is not as hightech as something that Canepole would build but it works.

It worked great. I set the trolling motor running straight and used the big motor as a rudder. I moved all rod to the back of the boat. Now I know how you auto pilot boys feel. Now I can get up from the trolling motor without going in circles.

Jeff, if you can just figure out a way to work a little duct tape into that design, you will move to the head of my "hero list"!!! :D:D:D

But seriously, looks like an excellent, inexpensive solution, that works... cool!!!

I didn`t think about duct tape. Guess I will have to back to the drawing board.

Wrap your silt fence staub in duct tape so you don't get a splinter in your finger and keep a can of WD40 close by!!!

I like it. Whatever works. Low-tech can work just as well as high-tech.

Goes to prove fishermen are ingenious when it comes to making fishing life easier. Some times the simpler things in life are the best.
