i am currently using a 70lb maxxum and i am looking to buy a terrova with ipilot.with the maxxum i can pull crankbaits at 1.7 to 1.9 for 4 to 5 hours,with the 36v terrova would i be able to pull for 8 hours or would i be better off with the 80lb and four batteries.thanks

Like Tom said you need to know the amp draw at the speed you want to give you a more accurate answer. However I don't think the 36V will give you the 8 hours, maybe 6-7. 4 batteries with the 80 lb motor should with no problem assuming you use the same size batteries that you are now using.

the 80lb with two batteries would be a little cheaper than the 36v with one battery and with the 80 i could take the extra two out unless i was pulling cranks
I get 4 or 5 hours pulling with my Terrova 80. When it dies, I just use the big motor. If I had the space, an extra set of batteries would be the way to go.

I have a Terrova 24v 80# US2 and On my 22' CC I can run all day... 10 hours holding on BP's in winds 10-20 mph in the open part of the lake. At the end of the day I had still 75% charge on the batteries. Runs much longer than my MG Tm ever did and it was only 67@ thrust. It pulls my boat 2.8 mph into the 15mph wind! Hope this helps you.
