I just got my Ipilot in and am installing it. I will have to make a few changes to my circuit. I was just guessing before (using billbob's wiring pictures).. Now I will proceed. It is knda hard to design a circuit looking at pictures of wiring, but I was fairly close. I will have to generate a steering circuit as the steering is on the board I removed from the head unit and not in the control board as I thought it to be (based on looking at pictures). It is still a simple circuit and should not cost too much. Too bad I don't have any buddies at MinnKota or Humminbird.

Shellback is right about the connector. It is dedicated. I found the connectors from lowrance, eagle and garmin, but no MK. Binder Connector Company makes one close to MK. I will try to get them to send me a sample. If not, there are other alternatives, many other in fact.

This will take a while to make the circuit a simple install.

Not many electronic parts stores in rural west tenn.

Really need some of those MK round female connectors to make the install easy. If I had those, it would just connect up.

Needs 2 female and 1 male MK connectors per unit. I can convert everything over to Lowrance bayonet type connectors. Simple to do, but just a pain to do it.

Just change the connector to the desired input (Ipilot or foot control). This is what the multiplexer will do except you don't have to change the plugs, just flip a switch to select control. I am just multiplexing the control outputs of the Ipilot with the foot control (thus the need for mating connectors). I will eventually find who makes the connectors. I am just ironing out the details.

Pretty straight forward circuitry. It will work. The circuit board will be about 2.5 by 3.5 inches. Little box size or maybe put it in the cover with the PWM controller.

The cables are probably outsourced, likely china. I doubt if it is Minnkota specific connector. The cost to set up would raise the COGS significantly.
wrong. Steering comes from head unit board, not control board.:o

Ima reusing the Watusi. Just gonna put a new board in it. Watusi bug is heavily abused. I stomp the chit out of it all the time.

You're confused!!!!! Now that's rich. Bwahahahaha.

I was simply expressing the fact that I've got no clue what your diagram means and in fact, should no longer be allowed to read your posts CP. I just ain't qualified.

The one thing in this life that really chaps my hide is folks that know more than me. You sir, have ticked me off thoroughly!
