Talking 1st Trial Run With I-pilot

All I can say is until you try it you wont know what youre missing. I spent a little time today getting to know the controls and was totally facinated at the cruise control feature along with using the AP and advanced AP. You can literally forget about the trolling motor in open water once you get it set at the speed you want to troll. The trolling motor speeds up and slows down as necessary to maintain your speed in wind and current. No more manually pushing buttons to maintain a certain speed. I briefly tried the spotlock feature too and as far as I could tell I stayed still in the 5-6 mph wind. I'll play with this alot more the next time I spend some time at the lake, along with the track back feature. But from what I can tell as of now....man! I'm glad I went this route instead of buying the 55# AP and adding the co-pilot.

Thanks, gabowman for the info. I think I am going to get me one of the 80lb thrust I-pilot.
Anyone know where the best and cheapest price to order one is. I need the trolling motor and all.

    Thanks

I would suggest to google search the model you want. I bought my Terrova with AP when it first came out via the boat dealer. I wish I could offer you a better suggestion.

I have a i-Pilot inbound for my Terrova. I can't wait to try it. I hope it will keep me near my structure better then I do!

Recently, the best price I have run into is from a local independent shop :

    Kevin Krumenauer...Absolute Powersports: (715) 723-7705

Kevin will be able to get you anything you need and has pricing that is very competitive. Great service, and there's nothing better than supporting the little guy!

Keep in mind the $100 rebate on new Terrovas (including the two i-Pilot equipped models) that runs from 2/15-4/15. I have the rebate form available on my website:

I got mine installed this past weekend and hope to take it out Thursday for it's first trial. Really excited with all the positive comments I've read. All the features seem taylor made for the crappie fishermen.

From the couple of hours I spent playing with my troller yesterday I think it's "the bomb" for crappie, bass, bream, stripers, etc, etc. different kinds of fishing.:p Now I'm just hoping it's durable.:o

Jason, are you sure that the rebate covers the Terrovas with the ipilot preinstalled? At Cabelas they have a sign for the rebate but it states that those models are excluded.

My information is direct from the MinnKota senior brand manager. Here's his e-mail to me:

"There is not specifically a rebate on iPilot. However, we do have a
rebate on Terrova motors. ($100). If someone were to buy a Terrova /
i-Pilot combo motor, there would be a rebate. Make sense? "

If you're still concerned, call MinnKota! 800-227-6433
