    Thumbs up

I followed the instructions in the first post and it took 45 minutes and I took my time. I had to also remove the USB2 cable while I was in there. Now I have turned my chart speed to 2 or 3 and the SI and DI images are awesome. Thanks again for the instructions. :D

did you ever do this? where can you buy large diameter shrink wrap locally?

can someone do me a favor since I dont have my terrova yet. could someone measure the diameter of the shaft for me. I want to see if I can find some shrink wrap before I get my unit.

    thanks,

You refer to a shielded transducer---is this different from the regular transducer, or did you do something to shield it?

bringing up a good'ole thread on installing a transducer cable on a Terrova i-pilot.
I am not having too much luck with glues (tried 2 so far).
Thinking of using JB Weld to glue the cable to the tm shaft (in the grove)
good or bad idea on the JB Weld idea (too permanent of a glue maybe?) ???

I used some black RTV and it is holding very well. I don't think I would use JB Weld.

I noticed you have a bungie around your head unit. Do you not like moving the locking collar for transport?

I don't like to stress that collar by clamping and un-clamping it all the time. This holds the motor shaft forward and down which takes pressure off the stow claw linkage mechanism and prevents the shaft from moving. Some use a RAM mount stabilizer. It also stops any vibration while on the road and I don't worry about where the depth is set cause it never moves.

I think almost all the HDSI transducers are shielded but I don't know for sure. This set-up should work with any cable (< 1/4" dia) and transducer. I'd just be cautious of interference without the shield. But if you run your cable down the shaft of other troll motors, it should be OK here.

Both cables are FTPs. I don't understand why MK is using FTPs because they sure are not using differential mode signaling??? I am out of the guru group now. I can't get answers. Closed door policy. My o my.
