    Luvin',

Thank you so much for taking photo's and sharing this install. Just got my Terrova in last week and was wondering how to run my Xducer wire. I asked around on 4 other fishing forums and no one had a good idea! Imagine finding the solution here on my favorite fishing forum. Guess I should have checked here first :D

Now, how does one go about shortening the 60 inch shaft to a 48 inch shaft That will be my next custom modification

You can take the head off the unit and cut the hollow PVC shaft any length you want. BUT! unless it's done by a MK mechanic it will void your warranty from what I have heard. Luckily I have a deep V and the length works good for me.

Just get him on, then we'll worry about getting him in!

TnT, in the 3rd picture, there is a box with a couple of switches and a dial, mounted to your rod holder. What is this used for?

    Question Lock Ring

Does'nt The Lock Ring On The Shaft Have To Fit In The Groove Where You Ran The Wire?

I was waiting for someone to bring this up. Have you tried deploying the TM after running the cable up the shaft grove? Hope it doesn't damage the cable. I hope this works out because my self and others will probly do the same thing. Let us know if it works out. Thanks ppp

I just mounted a new terrova and this made me go look.
On mine the lock ring does not fit into the groove.
It is just a simple compression type ring.

Trust Me. This mechanically works and really well. I stored and deployed a dozen times with no cable contact anywhere. I'd only caution to be sure your xducer cable is shielded! That groove is not used for anything else and the lock/drive ring does not use it. Thank You Minn Kota. You knew I needed that groove for my transducer! :D TIP: Use electrical tape to hold the cable and a cable tie to hold the tape.

WENT AND LOOKED AT MINE AGAIN AND YOU ARE RIGHT, THE LOCK RING DOESN'T FIT IN THE GROOVE. SURE THOUGHT IT DID BUT IT LOCKS ON THE DRIVE. LOOKS LIKE A GREAT FIX! KUDOS

how much play in the ring?.... I'm thinking heat shrink tubing instead of tape.... one long tube vs spot tape wrap.
