Default trolling motor steering wrong way

This is a really dumb question, I have a min kota maxim pro with cable steering. I recently had some work done on it and now it steers backward I think. Heel down it goes to the right. Tow down to the left. I had never thought about it just automaticaly used it. Now it seems backward. Maybe I am the one backward. How doese yours work. Thanks

Sounds like your cables are reversed.

Start the motor while its out of water and see which way it turning if its turning backwards they put the magnuts in the motor in wrong way if its turning the right way its the cable.
