Sounds like your remote might be going bad. I carry a spare just for that reason.
I am having a problem with my i-pilot. Twice now after about an hour of use. My remote wont turn on the motor propeller but will turn the motor left and right. The remote shows that the prop is turning but its not.
When i plug in the foot controller the remote starts working and continues to work as long as foot controller is plugged in. Any ideas?

I have a question about the Terrova iPilot link. I just switched over to this system and have my bow mount hummingbird unit connected to the trolling motor transducer which is connected to the us2 sonar head. In order to use the Follow the Contour feature, does the Terrova need to be connected to the Hummingbird through the us2 sonar for it work? Or will it work with the Hummingbird connected to the DI trolling motor transducer? Or do they all connect together through GPS connection? Thanks
The link needs to be connected to the network along with your humminbird. The us2 is just sonar. Ipilot link will use whichever unit you told it to follow the contour from. If that unit is us2 sonar then it will use that. If you're using, say your transom transducer and tell it to follow the contour, it will use that transducer to follow the contour.
I'm pretty sure that the I-pilot link only uses it's own GPS to follow the contour....not the 2D transducer.
I don't know how the unit sends this to the request to the I-pilot, but my guess would be that it is sent over to the I-pilot as a track with GPS co-ordinates.
I'm not 100% sure of this ..... just a WAEG.

Looking for the one that makes it all worthwhile.
I am thinking of a Terrova 80 and have a question and the frequency of the US2. I know it is 83 and 200 mhz. If I run my transom mounted sonar in same frequency will I get interference?
I figured I would have to run one in 200 and the other in 83. Will they interfere with each other if set to the same?
The only other DF I have is an old HB20 Matrix. But it still works good.
Good info

Is anyone else having problems with the pilot spot lock feature. Im on my second unit. First one wouldn't hold within 40 yards. The new one is better but not good enough. 25 to 40 ft drift off the spot. I called Minkota and was told there were many variables. Then I wastold by the lady. That she has one and 20 foot is the best hers will hold I don't know what she fishes but that much drift is totally unacceptable. She suggested I get it checked by a factory approved mechanic. There is only one im my state. He has a veryong backlog. I decided to call him to see if maybe head run into that and could fix it. He said all he does with that problem is swap out the unit. The lady told me she would send a replacement but didn't really think it would help. I contacted the seller Sassoon as I found out there was a problem. I was told that it was a factory problem that it was delivered as promised in perfect condition. It was as far as I could see in the box. Obviously it want perfect. It was useless. Ok I won't vent here lol. I wonder how many times replacing units before I find one that works. I am about ready to toss it and go back to my footpedal. Ipilot sounded like the pure berry's. Turned out to be the pure crap. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
