I pushed the learn button on the tm,but it still didn't do anything. Is there something else you have to do to learn it?

First you do have the TM deployed? I did that once and nothing
The original remotes some of the replacement batteries didn't fit exact. they looked like it was ok but needed to bend up one of the tabs for it to get contact.

Steps to syncing or "learning" the new remote

    • Power up the trolling motor.
    • Push and hold the learn button down (learn button is located at the top of the remote). A steady audio tone will be heard while holding this button.
    • While holding the learn button on the controller, push any button on the remote. Three short chirps will be heard when the remote is successfully learned.

Note: A remote can only be learned to one i-Pilot system at a time. i-Pilot systems can have an unlimited amount of remotes.

I have heard that you can gps anchor by pressing two buttons at the same time on your foot pedal. lets say you forget your remote at the house and all you have is your foot pedal. has anybody else heard this?

I bought a Terrova 55lb for my 165 Lowe when they first came out. While over all I like the TM the spot lock feature is very disappointing, It will not keep me within 30 ft of my original position even with very little breeze when the wind is blowing 10 to 15 it the spot lock is just about useless. I do not know if it is a specific problem with my T M or what. Any help or suggestion would be appreciated. Are there any updates for the first gen TerrovasA S?wef

Don't think the spotlock will keep you any closer than that, GPS is at best good for about 50'. Unless it's dead calm it isn't much help for jiggin brush. On the other hand it comes in handy tightlining. You can lock on a BP and it will "troll" you all around the pile.

I have a terrova 80 with I-pilot. it holds me on the spot just fine. I have an 18ft sylvan deep-v. if your batteries get low it can slow down the response of the trolling motor quite a bit. maybe the shaft of your trolling motor is rubbing your boat causing the steering to slow down.

Good batteries not rubbin motor just does not react quick enough to keep me anywhere close to the original position it will keep you in the area if you have to retie or take a fish off. that is about it. Not worth the money for this option IMHO
