I've been wondering - is there a way to hook a HB side image to a laptop in order to get the 'big screen' effect?
Back before the 'big screens" showed up on the market, I was using this tablet pc made by motion computing. It was loaded with various mapping software including Garmin Mapsource and Oziexplorer.
By using my garmin GPS as a input to the laptop, I could use the Moving map feature of Mapsource. It was a big screen GPS.
I later added the PCFF 80 sonar module, and, then I had a big screen sonar. To enable split screen views, I just used my minimizer scroll, and opened both programs and adjusted the size of the screen per program to fit the size of the laptop screen. This worked fine after you got it set up.
The only problem with the tablet was direct daylight from your back. Going into sun was ok. I added a hood which made for improved viewing. At sundown, night, or overcast days, it was great viewing.

This unit works fine and is still working. I am gonna rig it up on my Jon boat now that I have a new and improved transducer letter downer and raiser upper.
Ment to mention that the PCFF 80 is the one I have mentioned numerous times that has an adjustable transmitter power and an adjustable gain level. Also you can adjust the ping pulse width and rate of ping. It smokes.
