He was my first Sunday School teacher after becoming a Christian. He was 72 and I was 18. As long as I knew him, he never called me by name. He simply called me "Young man." But he did so with great respect. He took me under his wings and taught me many things about life. And, he and I became the best of fishing buddies. We spent many hours at Rhodehiss and Lake Hickory crappie fishing. He knew more about catching crappie than anyone I have ever known. The hours we spent together are now a very important part of my memory. Those memories are indeed precious to me. Mr. O.D. will never be forgotten by me.

Thanks for sharing the heartfelt statement of your great friendship and regard of O.D. Minton with the rest of us. It reminded me of similar feelings I have had for people who I have been blessed to know
who have passed on to be with the Lord. I have often wondered if such people might have been angels (or saints) sent by God to bless me in ways that only they could. May peace be with you.
