How do they like garlic?
I say they like it pretty good….lol. I’d use what you have and test it out.
What do you guys think about me making single basic color tubes & using spike it dip & glo to color tails or whatever color i want a different color? Also would you get the unscented version or just use the garlic scented chartreuse that i already have for bass fishing? How do crappie like garlic? Thanks

I have been using the Spike-it markers to color all white or monkey milk baits. Seems to work well. I'm not sold on garlic, maybe because I associate it with catfish and bullhead fishing?
When some of the chart tails on my hot grubs start dimming from age in the tackle box I'll dip the chart. tails to revive them. I also like dipping the other ends to chage the colors some, getting colors you just cant buy.
And garlic is good.

I've used pens and the dip for decades. The dip is good for the base color; the pens for stripes or belly colors. The Sassy shad below was chartreuse. The pen applied the back black stripe and the orange belly color.
This Sassy Shad had the belly and tail cut off. The charteuse color was intensified by the dip and the black and orange added with Spike-It pens.
The white grub body was dipped in chart. after the curl tail was removed and the rest applied using pens.
One more - promise:
I wouldn't say the color combos added to the great number of fish caught last year on the above, but at least it didn't hurt.
BTW(No-action tale grubs RULE!)

All I have ever used is the dip and it's garlic scented. The crappie will eat it.

I use the chartreuse garlic dip and the color garlic pens to put blue on top and red or orange on the belly of baby shad monkey milk when they dont want to bite and it works most of the time. If that dont work it's time for the tiny hair jigs. Sometimes I think when they biting it dont matter what you use and when they aint biting it dont matter what you use. Gotta keep looking for them hungry fish
