They tell me color doesn’t matter, and unpainted heads are best, but I have noticed differently. I am using three different colors- head, body and tail. I like white, green, pink and purple body colors. All with that Yum Yum yellow tail.
There are also different shapes, sizes, profiles and actions associated with these types of discussions. Then of course different lakes, different techniques, different styles. Well it all forms this conglomeration of information so large that comprehension is difficult. I have gathered my bestest wisdom via trail and error. Well you have gotten together a few orders for me, and I am kind of all over the place with that stuff, but soon hope to get it all sorted to just a few special baits. You make some very interesting baits and your colors are bright and welcoming. So I wanted to reply.
I speak a little diddy as I reel them in. “Welcome…….Welcome to Fantasy Island.” I would like to listen to them talk when they are in the live well, but so far no luck with that. Maybe get their opinion on some things. We can all be quite assured that whatever would be revealed would likely change the next day anyways. LOL These fish are certainly as fickle as a cat.
I have wondered why bait makers all seem to make the same thing. Paddle tail baits for example. The second color always starts at the joint where body meets tail. Starting second color half way down the tail doesn’t seem to be much of an option, or a body where there is just a splash of a different color near the head. Always seems the body is one color and the tail is all one color. I don’t make my own plastics so it probably has to do with how things get done. I am still making way too jig heads of different designs, sizes, styles, profiles and of course- colors. I am afraid to get started making plastics for fear of what I may become. Thousands in molds and supplies when I can just buy what I really want from you.
