Default Anyyone fish clear soft plastic lures?

Years ago I caught fish on a clear plastic Zara Spook, crankbait, and Tiny Tropedo. Last year it occured to me to pour some plastic lure using clear plastisol - no color or glitter.

If not the entire lure, at least the tail:

One clear tail / one chartreuse:

This curl tail did fine when clear before I added color with Spike-It.

No but I do with a little pearl or hi-lite. Are you using UV in it?

I’ve tried clear or close to clear and don’t have near as much success as I do with colors. I think it helps if the fish can see the bait easier instead of trying to be invisible. I want all the help I can get in the catching department.

    ??

When you look at clear lures, there is always color tranmitted regardless the position of the lure to the fish seeing it. Background color in particular is transmitted through the plastic plus there is always light reflected from the shiney surface resulting in a bit of flash and more so the more textured the lure (glass photo example). Few anglers fish in crystal clear water which may be similar to what a clear plastic lure looks like above the surface. Plus, lures are never seen against a white background which would make clear plastic a bit less visible. Even this slightly tinted glass vase shows the change in background light absorbed; textured glass transmits patterns by way of many light absorption intensities.

Regardless, I've caught fish on other clear plastic shapes which depended on 1. lateral line detection and 2. the keen eyesight fish possess used once they move closer to investigate. i. and 2,. in combination, raise a fish's AQ or Agression Quotient to the point of attack. All lures change color depending on available light - even clear plastic lures which are lighter in bright light, darker in reduced light. Even this clear Zara Spook changes color as it swishes through the water:

Of course, many might say clear lures look like no prey that ever lived, but as usual, the proof is in the catching.

Salt and pepper from crazy angler is clear with just a tiny bit of flake to it.

Crappie eat a lot of small fish that are transparent or pretty close to transparent i’m a firm believer in action so if you have something that’s pretty close to what they’ feeding on and presenting it right that’s what they’re gonna strike.

I’ve used clear tail versions but mostly with a hint of glitter or smoke tint. Light green and a clear w/flake tail is in my box now.

I like to use clear with very fine silver glitter to imitate scales.

Wrapping the hook with colored tinsel would provide an interesting effect with a clear body.
