    Default Floating soft plastic plastisol

What is the best plastisol to make two inch minnow type lures that will float horizontally on a #2 hook tied on a Carolina Rig? You can answer with photos on this thread or with a PM.

    Thanks.

I am just looking at other methods than using the bit of pool noodle. I started to put pieces of pool noodle in the mold and pour hot plastisol around it but I was scared to try. This video is what got me to start experimenting.

Small piece of coffee stir straw with the ends crimped and sealed to create an air pocket. I remember years ago Mr Twister made a plastic called a slimmy Slug. About 4 inches long. Heavy enough to cast with spinning gear. Was made to sink slowly with a 4/0 worm hook rigged weedless. Those things allowed to sink and jerked like a dying shad. Those bass would knock the snot out that thing.

Interesting my friend. We will be doing a lot of experimenting this week. I am still intrigued by this also. I guess I goofed somehow when I posted this above. Anyway, here is his video.

Microbubbles or just stir bubbles in naturally before shooting?

Is there a source for microbubbles? Thank you for the heads up.

I saw this on the internet. Is this how to do it or should I just buy some floating soft plastisol?

We are making some progress. I got over my fear of shooting hot plastisol over pool noodle parts. The trick is to cut tiny bits of the pool noodle to put into the mold. This is not quite yet a finished project...but it is showing some progress. These lures will float a #4 long shank brass hook. Now I have to work on the Carolina Rig conceptual idea for deep water Crappie fishing. Here is what I did. Perhaps one of you can improve on this idea concept. I need all the help I can get. Next I will be trying the same technique with an imbedded small foam float. Who knows. It might work even better.
    Thanks , Mike
