Might try salt water flashaboo that is wider. Heck find out what the material is and then cut even wider. I would then fold in half however many times so the you could run it through the body and then unfold the part that are outside the body. Maybe even trim it some.
shipahoy41 thanked you for this post

Sounds interesting. I have some of that Crystal flash in my stash. might try that also. I just think a moving pectoral fish fin would be an awesome trigger in a minnow imitating lure. Those fins are used for moving, braking, jumping etc. That and adding a little blood worm -n- chunk paint on the belly to imitate a wounded fish should entice the big crappie and their momma to bite my lure because it will stand out from the crowd. I believe you and I are on the something Bob. Stay tuned folks! What the mind of man can conceive and believe, he will achieve. I wonder if Jimmy Houston, Ronnie Capps, "G", Wally Marshall, Richard Gene, tournament fishing personalities, and even Chip from the local grocery store are watching this thread.
Stay tuned folks. Might be something posted on here and my You Tube channel by weeks end. Now if any of you tournament fishermen win using this idea DO NOT FORGET to send a little "Something Something" to Bob and I for this inspiration to make you stand out from the crowd. Just sayin...

I can guarantee you Mike that the big boys in the tournament fisherman read Are post I know of one tournament fisherman that fishes the big Crappie tournaments reads a lot of our post he’s bought quite a bit of stuff from me and of course the manufactures keep an eyeball on anything that pops up new.
You mention a blood on one of your baits Imitating a wounded fish mini years ago I tide up a fly It had a white in Marabou Trail the body was yellow and just underneath the eye of the hook was a piece of Red Marabou and on the top side of the eye in the hook another chunk of white marabou this was very successful on the surface We used a clear barber dragging the fly behind it we caught quite a few crappie using this method.
