Ok in these pictures the second batch of POP is poured in. This is a total of 4 cups dry, and 2 cups water. 2 dry and 1 water for each batch. If you look closely at the side view one you can see the line separate the two halves...Name: 20201008_085633.jpg

I will post more as soon as The Mold is set up enough to separate, which will be late today at the earliest. More to follow. Eric, AKA Jamesdean.

As promised here we go. I used pam cooking spray for the second time, and upon opening the mold, I remembered why I started using vaseline. All those holes are from bubbles in the oil when sprayed...fixable? Yes, it just adds work, but not a total disaster...
The second picture is when I very first popped it open. Which this one came right apart with no problem what's so ever...now to remove the parts from the other side...
Well, it came out pretty easy. Mold is not like a cnc mold, but POP molds never are. Do the fish care??? Not that I have found any way...a bit of clean up, and a very small amount of repair work, a bit of sealing and this one will be ready for some plastic...
    More to come...Eric, AKA Jamesdean.Name: 20201008_154233_001.jpg

I spent a bit of time, broken up between some things I needed to do around here, cleaning up the molds. I am only going to worry about the holes in the cavities where the plastic will be. The molds are still damp, and will need to be very dry before sealing, or mold, the bad kind, can set in and weaken the whole thing, and it will be useless...so now it's drying. I will leave it on a toaster oven rack with a small fan blowing on it for a couple days before putting a sealer on it..

In the pictures you can see what clean up I have gotten done. More to come as I get it done...Eric, AKA Jamesdean.

No everyone, I did not forget about that mold. The humidity has been high, and I wanted it dry when I sealed it, so I have left it on under the fan on a toaster oven rack so air movement can get all the way around it. I went to The bridge today and played with the fishes. Would have helped if I had charged my phone last night.
No fish to brag on but some good fighters and one big green one. 9 total, all on monkey milk. I hope to get back on the mold in the morning...thank you for looking...Eric, AKA Jamesdean...

After 24 hours under that little 7" fan, the mold halves were dry. The felt an estimated 1/2 of what they did wet. So I set up a board and put a coat of VHT 550 deg engine paint on the mold. In this case Lt. Ford Blue...colr don't matter it's just what was in the shed. Light coats is what you need. It will take a couple as the plaster will soaked a layer or two up. The objective here is to get a shiny coating IN the cavities without losing any details that might have been on the original. Once this is accomplished it will be ready for plastc...
