Hybrid (Frankenstein) lure creation is my game and the only reason I fish. Catching fish on them give me insight as to what fish bite more often via lure characteristic associations. Some designs prove not as effective, others way more effective catching most fish species in different sizes.

For example, the thin tail grub is at the top of the list of best designs:

The combination of tail flutter even at rest is what I believe key in provoking strikes. (Note the three species).

The cone tail grub is another subtle action lure:

This year I decided to try darker colors for my best lure designs and found that they did as well.

Surprising was catching fish on a fat-tail grub:

Note the difference in size between front and back. The lure wobbles with slight changes in retrieve speed and has done very well this year.

The first time I connected grub bodies (after removing the curl tails), I never thought the design would get strikes. Man was I wrong!

It catches fish even wacky rigged on a jig head:

Another idea I wanted to try was connecting a flat body to a curl tail:

I had bags of French Fry stick lures stored and figured a way to use them. The design confirmed that fish don't need round bodies to strike.

There are many more and maybe I'll post more depending on interest.
