Eric for many years I prefer to use the smaller baits we have been using the pintail stinger which is an inch and a half long with the 1/32oz. And if that doesn't work I drop it down to 180 in a very small marabou jig I prefer natural colors when I'm fishing such as your smoke and I like a lot of silver and shades of brown . But here is the kicker sometimes the Crappie are real finicky and they want a bigger bait we use a 2 inch stinger are use the 669 from Bass tackle molds it has a little bit longer tail than most the stinger baits on the market for some strange reason I compared this one to others in this one will outfish the other stingers maybe because of the longer tail and smaller profile but I tell you what a 5 inch Crappie Will suck that down his throat and perhaps the fish are feeding on the bigger pray. Over the years I carry a wide variety of stuff when we go after crappie . It is really strange to think back when I was a kid in the late 50s and 60s we didn't have very much to fish with back then most the time I use cut bait with a very small marabou jig and that's all we had to fish with. I remember the first tube they come out on the market from Canyon it was a big hot seller here locally and we used it screws differently after it will hit the market shortly after word everybody else started making plastics for crappie unless you probably all know the market for plastics for Croppie fishing is huge. Crappie fishing in America is probably number one I would assume that it would rank second comparing to bass fishing in America. I personally fish for bass for many years and I do not find it relaxing is fishing for Crappie.
I was hoping to get to go try some out this week-end Buuut, Momma has other plans. Our 21 y/o Grand daughter stopped in for a couple days visiting and I have some other things to get done first. So further testing will be a bit...
