    Default Shelf life

I bought some essentials plastic in Sept. I just got around to using it this weekend or tried to. Found that after hearing it up to 330 it poured real nice but it took a lot longer to solidify and even afterwards it seems very soft compared to what I'm used to seeing from the same plastic. Question is is there a time limit on its lifetime or did I get another batch of the bad stuff from essentials. I bought another gallon prior to that from another supplier and it was bad. They did make it right but bought this gallon in Sept having poor results with it. Thanks for any suggestions

I don't pour plastics but the guys I know who do are always talking about stirring it to keep it really mixed up. Bob or one of the other guys will pop in with an answer

I still have some that's over a year old and just started using it. No problems, but I mix it well before using. Some will hard pack if it's been sitting a while. The larger the container the more I have to mix it.

The batch I have is really soft, but the it seems to stretch a lot more before it would tear. Most of the time I add glow powder to my plastics which really firms the bait up. Other plastic that I have used would hardpack and shaking it wouldn't help. I made a stirring piece out of stainless steel wire that looked like an egg beater. I would put this in a drill to stir it up. With the essential I haven't had that problem. I don't think there is any shelf life on the plastic. I have used some over 5 years old with no problem.

It does seem to stretch a lot more but another thing I m concerned about is it seems to take a lot longer to solidify after pouring...it used to be a couple minutes then it would be to hard now it's like 4 or 5 minutes and it's still runny

Your plastisol needs to be heated to 350 degrees on the initial heating to get it to cure properly. I am not sure that 330 will do it

I tried do-it plastic a few years back. Hated the box because it was hard to mix up. I wanted to try the essentials so the first thing I did was pour it into a jug. Worked fine. From what you are saying sounds like it's not mixed good. Maybe a bad batch.

I had some MF plastic for probably 15 years recently gave it to a friend that is pouring it and it is working just fine. I've been catching fish on the baits he has made for me.He stirred it with a drill and paint mixer.
If I dont ask its my fault for not knowing
