    Default Thumper fry line color

I make quite a few of the thumper fry baits for a few locals who love them and swear its the only bait they use for the crappies around here. The baits they want are done with a black or purple hand poured belly section that gets dotted with raw colorant and then finished with a fairly clear super sparkle top plastic. Today I had an order filled leaving half of the mold not needed. I didn't want to fill that side with super sparkle so I hand poured both sides for those cavities leaving them a little short on fill. I dotted the color as I normally would and then shot the clear to finish. This made 5 baits with a black top and bottom and the clear running right up the center and pulling a hot pink line to the paddle in the tail's end.

I love how making this bait in this fashion leaves the tail. Solid colors or half solid and half clear it shows how there are a lot of options with this bait and coloring technique.

Dang nice looking baits. Y'all must have some sophisticated crappies up north. Ours done here in the south don't need nothing that flashy to bite, lol.

Sometimes I think the crappies around my location have seen just about everything everybody is throwing at them. Our crappies have rather sophisticated tastes I think.
I second the idea on them scraps your throwing together. If you'd flavor 'em with a little mint, I might try one too. I tried a few pink things you have put together CTom and
for the first time in my life I'm catchin' crappies on pink. I just never could bring myself to puttin' anything pink on my jig heads. LOL

Pink and I are not good company either RR. Lots of people do well with pink combinations. I can sit at the motor and catch crappies until my arm hurts with a purple/chartreuse bait while my buddy is doing the same with pink/white. I can put the exact same rig as what he is using on my line and not get so much as a hit.

I don't remember ever seeing a crappie jig body like those with the eye poured into it. I don't pour any, but wondered how you get the eyes in the pour, or are the stuck on afterwards?
