    Default Duplicating an Injection Mold

I posted this in the main forum and it was suggested I try this section:

Anyone ever try and duplicate an aluminum soft plastic injection mold? I've seen plenty of videos on duplicating a soft plastic lure but, not the mold itself. The plastic jigs that im trying to duplicate are too small for duplicating with clay or plaster of paris. I do have an aluminum injection mold that was made for me and I'm not willing to give the company more money for another.

    Thanks in advance ....

Like everyone said it's more trouble than its worth. I've made some myself but it's a lot of work.

Before I knew about this site/forum I had an aluminum injection mold made for me. When I asked about getting more his price was WAY too high. I should have done my home work better but .... I didn't. Unfortunately, I didn't get my samples back nor did I get the CAD file. I'm definitely not interested in forking out $100's & $100"s of dollars to duplicate what I have. If I send you the mold, would you be able to duplicate it?

I think I have found a way to duplicate it and not cost me an arm and a leg. If it works I'll make sure to post it for others to see.

I hope the "mold makers" don't get upset about me duplicating this but, there's a point were greed goes a little to far........

I agree. if you agreed on a number up front, they should stick to that number, I could replicate it, But would basically have to start from scratch, and that is were all the expense is at.
