I have been looking for a bait to come out really close to that. I would like to see a bait that you can vertical fish or split the tail for casting. I wonder adding some bumps on the tail tip would impart some action. I have a model I made a few years back I might send you and see what you think. Nothing exclusive just an idea! I am partial to 2.25 baits and have been fishing flapper baits for a few years and fish them with the tail up and down. Have caught a lot of fish twitching it just a little. Always wandered why a fish will not hit a dead minnow. The tail is not moving!!

The arc'd lines on the tail should give it a bump effect, Ill adjust after i get it cut, bout to run the prototype now. Im always game for new ideas.

If you want to learn to draw 3d, I got a great program for beginners, I dont sell it, I do use it everyday. Its easy to self teach. Will get you a leg up if you ever do want to use solidworks.
I use Punch Via Cad Pro Version 7, If you spend more than 30.00 on it shipped your paying to much, Just look around.
The pics I am posting are from my cam program, It is simulating the cuts from the machine program, I am not drawing them. All these crappie baits I am doing are only 2 dimensional. So there just programmed from lines. Sample pic from Punch Cad attached.

    Edit:
I actually draw in Punch via cad, Auto cad, And even My cam program. I generally design most of a bait in autocad, And import it to the Via cad, rotate lines, give dimension to it etc.
