Nice, never used motor oil for crappies. Caught a lot of Bass on the man's motor oil worms over the years.
One of the most interesting colors to work with is motor oil. I did up some worms for a friend's request using motor oil over a light amber and again over fluorescent orange. They turned out really nice so I took time to use the left overs from his order on baits for myself. In one light the motor oil is greener than duck weed but in the shade its a nice subtle brown. Crazy how it transitions from color to color by itself but then toss these other colors under it and a whole new color world opens up. Motor oil is no doubt a fun color to play with. This motor oil is Do-It's X2 color and is color fast....no bleed.

we have used motor oil all by itself it is very effective for crappie it has always been a good color anyway on the snake River in Oregon have not tried it here in Texas all by itself but I would imagine it should be really good.ctom you did a fantastic job like always I enjoy seeing your work.

A winning combo as far as I'm concerned. Was always good for bass, but never tried it on crappie. I like.

Was just telling a friend yesterday about using those old Mann's motor oil worms when stationed in south Fl. Fishing that dark Tannic water in the glades motor oil does some crazy stuff with differences in sunlight and that water. Brown, red green and all kinds of shades. Bass in hyacinths loved it.

Great looking colors.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Interesting as my motor oil from do it is a clear light gold color. What mixture did you use to obtain the green? Any highlight ?
This is mine? Can't get the green color like you show. Scratch head lol
Here is motor out by ispike.
It's more of a redish color
I think mine was 15 drops in 4 ounces. The light has a lot to do with how motor oil appears. This was in shade immediately next to super bright sunshine....early day, like 7:00 am. At noon it would look completely different in the same setting..

Ok will give that a try tommorow. No highlight that I can see. I wonder if it is that color stand alone is feeding off the orange
