Well I'm at a loss for words. I'm back where I started with the ripples. I shot for 3 hours tonight and the more I shot the worse it got. It got to the point at the end that ever tail had this ripple effect. Could it be my injector??? It is from Bass Tackle. I tried tweaking the injections ever time I shot from shooting fast, to shooting slow, to leaving pressure on the injector after the shoot to no pressure, to stirring the plastic slowly with a spoon, to just swirling the plastic around in the pyrex, I tried letting the mold cool for 30 seconds then to 2 minutes, I tried pouring into the injector and then sucking the plastic into the injector, I tried getting the plastic way hotter than 350 and then cooler than 350 as well as 350, I tired it on the 2.5" then the 3" and finally the 4" with all the same results!!!! Air bubbles/ripples or whatever you want to call them!!! In the grand scheme of things these aren't hurting anything and will still catch fish but I'm eventually going to be selling my bait and can't have this. I initially thought the problem got worse the more I reheated a plastic but then I tried new plastic with new color and the results were the same if not worse!!! Maybe the ripples air bubbles? There isn't a single air bubble in the body or in the pyrex when I'm pouring into the injector. I don't know what I did different the other night when I was shooting the tomato/chartreuse. I almost had no ripples. I am about ready to quit. I don't have his problem with my stinger mold. Thoughts or suggestions?

CTOM suggested over at another forum that swirling the plastic isn't an adequate enough and will leave hot/cold spots in the plastic. This makes since to me. I stirred the plastic with a spoon last night a couple of times but maybe I didn't stir it well enough when I did. I only started swirling the plastic when I found that it creates less bubbles. To counter this I will let the plastic sit for several minutes after stirring with a spoon. He also suggested that my reheats are probably too hot which I agree with. Thinking back on it my new plastic is probably too hot too. He gave me a few other pointers I am going to try today.

Travis, call me. I never ever have this problem. One thing I have learned is taking temperature of plastic for me is a waste of time. I did take temperature at first but now rely on visual viscosity prior to sucking the plastic in to the injector. I have much better luck with cool or cold molds. One issue might be the mold it self. I know we can find the right answer so you can crank them out flawlessly!!
