    Default My Shad Minnow Stinger

I am so excited about the shad minnow stinger mold I bought. This mold is awesome. The bait comes out 1.75 " long with realistic pop out eyes. I took a little black garlic scent and put it on a toothpick then dabbed it on the eyes. Now I will make me some chartreuse and aqua ones and other combinations....
    chartreuse and black
    chartreuse and pink
    chartreuse and white

Playing around with dual colors and a hint of a lateral line now.

those are sweet, I do not even know how to do the lateral line, share how you did it. Did you just use dye on a pin or toothpick and run it into the head? Did you drip in the belly color and inject around or over it?

    Hey crappieseeker.

How is it going? I started playing around with the eye. I tried putting a small amount of plastic on a toothpick to do the eye and then injecting the rest of the mold, but I was not to thrilled with the result. This is my first day playing with the eye so I just started experimenting. I finally found out that if I put a tiny drop of Spike it on the outside of the protruding eye then you would have the black eye on your lure.

Then I experimented with the dual color concept. Make sure you have heated the plastic in the microwave until it is liquid and syrup like. I used a tiny baby spoon to put a drop or two into the belly of the mold. I then close the mold, put it in the vise.and inject the contrast color.

Instead of using just a small bit of spike it on the protruding eye add just a smidgeon more. Amazingly it will do a small lateral line effect.
