The belly cavity on this mold lies on the side with the alignment studs, so everyone has an idea.

I keep a plain old teaspoon sitting atop a bowl of plastic that is hot, but not able to let the spoon sink. The spoon is used to fill the small cavities. It takes some getting accustomed to, but it works darned good when a guy gets the hang of it. Basically I dip the spoon in the belly plastic, wipe the bottom off on the cup rim and quickly fill one cavitity. I repeat this on the other cavities. Where the care comes in is figuring out just what is the right amount of plastic to get in the spoon so you don't get a blob. When the cavities are filled, I hold the mold section up to the light and look to see that the cavities are not mounded way beyond the top of that section of the mold. When I close the mold and inject it, I heat that color of plastic to around 365 degrees and keep pressure on the pump for a ten count after the rod stops when filling. The pressure and extra heat seem to give me a better weld, but with the eyes and cover dip I don't get too nervy about cold seperations.
