    Default 1" ice minnow

Bears had a 1" Ice minnow that looked way too tempting so I ordered the mold a couple days ago and it showed up here tonight. I gotta say, I like this little guy.

As shown in the pic, it measures slightly over the advertised 1". The tail section is nothing but movement. I could not hold it quiet. The two color shot was a challenge for the old eyes but in better light I think I'll do fine. I only had 4mm eyes but I really wanted to see what eyes did for it and they make this minnow look just like a juvenile pin minnow....wow is all I can say.

The mold shoots 15 baits at a pop and the mold shoots very easy. I can see a very close relationship building betwixt this mold and I. This mold gets a high five from me.

Been wondering about that mold. Have not seen any baits in a good pic until now. Gonna order a couple of them now. Great looking baits for sure. Thanks for posting.CF

What weight jig and size hook do you use for those? They look great!

I plan to use either a 1/32 head with a #6 or a #8 hook. On these I'll likely lean towards jigs with sickle hooks too for just a hair more hook gap. I make the jigs and tend to lean on the 1/32 with an 8 hook on smaller baits such as these. The heads are collar-less too.

I'm loving this plastics stuff. So many ways to manipulate the colors do do different things. Even small baits can take on an intensity not seen in any of the commercial baits and plastics. People stuck on the store-bought and commercial plastics are really missing the boat.

That will give you a lot of tail action for sure. Nice Job.

Thursday evening we went looking for crappies and found yellow perch. The gold belly eyed ones above were dynamite. Everything else had a lot of lookers who declined to close the deal, but almost none of those that chased on this tail refused to bite on it. Great little bait.
