50% less plastic? are you saying that you just fill the mold half full or what? I thought you had to fill the molds up.....splain this to us please.
ok folks. Bear with me. I know I am new at all this stuff, and half of you will probably laugh at this post and say DUH! What took you so long to figure that out.........well its because no one told me! I had to figure it out by trial and error.
My first attempts at a paddle tail swim bait were to say the least a bit bulky. They were downright fat! I found out that it was hard for the fish to get to the metal of the hook. I went back to the drawing table today and put those baits on a diet.
What I have now is a bait that is pretty translucent and lifelike in the water and the tail action is four times better than the first attempts. I use 50% less plastic per bait so there is a better chance the fish will feel metal when they bite it.....GOTCHA! They will be in the frying pan soon.
THESE WERE THE FAT ONES..........
THESE ARE THE SLIM BAITS.. Look at the BOTTOM TWO and compare it with the fat one above it.
Hey I am at least trying. I welcome your comments .

when I first started this making plastic baits I did not have anybody to learn by so I had to learn everything one-on-one so you are doing fine Mike keep up the good work you will learn the same as I did by trial and error.

The 2 3/4 inch paddle tail is a two part mold from jannsnetcraft. When you put both halves together and clamp it you will get a fat shad David after you inject it. I separated the halves, and hand pour the tail one color then use a baby spoon to fill the body another color.
Let both halves cool ten minutes and remove them from the mold. Melt clear plastisol in the microwave. I will put stick on eyes on the lure and redip it into hot clear plastic. Lay the lure on aluminum foil to cure for about 10 hours.
Done deal.
