Guys .... here's the "oldie goldie" one that I was talking about :

Bullet shaped head with line eye coming out at 90deg angle & about 60% of the way back from the front tip of the leadhead .... then a prop spinner .... then a metal bead .... then a section of lead on the hook shank. Looks to be about a #2 litewire bronze hook.

There "may" have been thread wrappings under the bead, or between the bead & the lead on the hook shank, but the bait is so old that when I was fooling around with it & trying to figure out how it was put together .... "something" came out, and the only thing I could think of was that it was thread that had deteriorated from age. I can only speculate that the thread was there to keep the bead in place, so that the prop would spin & not bind.

Now ... I can't say as I've ever actually fished with this thing, and I'm not really sure how I ended up with it, but it does look interesting ... so I thought you guys might want to look it over.

I think the hook shank lead may not be necessary, and a thread wrap would serve the same purpose; which would be to hold the bead in position, so that the prop was free to spin. Or, even gluing the bead in position should work.

Looks very much like the "Little Demon" a bait that was very popular back in the day at Dale Hollow and Center Hill lakes.
Smallmouth loved it!
Don't recall who the original mfg. was.
The were several local made versions sold around Celina Tn.
I used to fish them a lot.

I have seen them before also but been years. The bead was tied in with thread. If fished near weeds the spinner would hang up quickly but it was a fish catcher.

I also have seen these long time ago I cannot tell you anything else about them I would have to get one of my collector buddies to do research but if you're looking to have them made I would go to Jacob baits to see what Rick would have to say I believe the little piece of lead behind the propeller is cramped on. You can make these yourself by using regular jig heads.I am not interested in reproducing this one it made been a very popular back in the old days this would be very good with life bait such an icefishing and stuff like this.

Nah, Snake .... I'm not all that interested in having this one made. I just thought some might be interested in the concept. I already knew about the Northland heads. I was just throwing this out there in case someone wanted to consider reviving or re-doing this style of bait. Just throwing out some ideas to this group of inovators.

My next thread will be about a head style that I wouldn't mind seeing re-done in a smaller size. But, again .... I'm not in the market for purchasing mass quantities of any lead heads, or plastics, as I already have more of them than I'll ever use up in my lifetime Rofl Seriously ... if my tackle boxes get any heavier, I'm going to have to hire someone to carry them from my apt. to the boat & back Doh

I enjoy seeing old stuff so please post more if you have them it's fun to look at that stuff like always very interesting to me and I'm sure the guys do enjoy looking at the old stuff also some of the old stuff I would deftly like to have I would like to have the Pippin we used the use of awful lot for crappie I heard that that cutting dies are no longer around I wish I knew for certain I would deftly try to buy them there was another one I believe was a skunk name that I would like to have also so there are many old fishing lures that we used to use in their early 60s that are not here anymore.

... there may still be some threads on here about the Lil Skunk, Polecat, and the No Name lure. I'll see if I can bring them up on the search feature.

It also appears that the Lisk Lure Co (original maker of the Skunk) also made a knock off the "No Name" lure ... and called it Brand X : Lisk Lures - Brand X : Joe's Old Lures - Antique Fishing Lures and Tackle Online Store

I can't, for the life of me, find any information about the Lisk "Polecat" ... but, my foggy memory says it was similar to the Skunk (trailer hook was slipped over the main body hook) but it had a flattened body that was more like the No Name. Little Skunks don't wobble, but I believe the Polecat did. Then again ... I'm trying to remember something from 50yrs ago, about a lure that I probably only used a few times Doh Rofl
