Does anyone use these (beetle spins) or are they manely for kids? The reason I ask is Jacobs has two new beetle bodys molds for sale now (new molds).

Gary .... I don't personally use Beetle Spins, but I do have the grubs & components to DIY one, in the event I think that type of bait would work better, under the conditions I'm faced with or if I need to really slow down my presentation.
Now ... that being said - I do use other baits, where a split tail grub, like the traditional Beetle Spin grub, does fit the bill. I would also use those style grubs on a jighead. Charley Brewer's Whirly Bee comes to mind, as well. The Whirly Bee has a 2" grub on a 1/8oz head. There's a Lil Whirly Bee, in the 1/16oz size, that uses a 1.5" grub. I can see having both of those sized grubs, and using them on other "heads" as well as the Whirly Bees.
So, no .... Beetle Spins & their style grubs are not mainly for kids. They're for kids of all ages, who like to fish with a time proven style of bait/plastic body.

I use them alot as I make my own. Now if you're using a lot of the bodies and you already have all the materials to make them and just need the molds that's a consideration you have to make. I had a guy on another board make me some in colors I wanted and they were from the old model molds with one flat side. But they work.

I'm assuming that these new molds are full rounds??? With all kinds of requests I've seen for them around this board others you might even break even selling some and they'll pay for themselves, but this is only if you want to go that way. You'd get asked for alot of the old original colors as well as others.

snake had him make those molds because he was getting requests for them. The molds are rounded and look very good. You can more easily do two colors with them. I only use them for bream and those molds are a little bigger than the ones I use for bream. Snake has those molds but he currently is not making any baits right now due to family issues.

I think they probably sell more of the smaller version though than the larger version. This because it is an extremely affective bait for the gills. They even sell one that is a nub tail and not a split tail. They are a good bait for gills here in Bama.
