Is it absolutely necessary to have stabilizer for lighter colors or are the lighter colors going to brown in reheating? I will be using calhoun plastics soft if it makes any difference. Thanks.CF

You don't need stabilizer unless your going to make a big pot of plastic and have to keep it hot for a long period of time. Stabilizer is fpr the guy who is pouring several hundred baits at a time. For most of us who warm a cup of plastic or less and pour it in fifteen minutes or so; stabilizer is not required.

For RE-HEATING ... Calhoun ...
YES you need to use some stabilizer especialy on light & transparent colors .. Other wise U may have to add some black coloring and make it black .... Calhoun ... in my expereance .. needs it more than any other I have used.

I have calhouns soft and yes you need stabilizer if you want to reheat. If not you will jsut have to add black to it like was already mentioned.

As far as I know all Stabilizer is clear and will not interfere with the colors ... but if not enough in the Plastisol it will discolor with excesive heat or extended heating ... most of the fumes you get are from the stabilizer .

i usually put some in whenever i do plastics so they won't scorch.i plan on reheating them sometimes,so it couldn't hurt right?

Do yall put your stabilizer in before or after you have heated the plastic the first time? When do you add some to a batch you have already made? How much do You fellas put in with say 1/2 cup to 1 cup? thanks guys.CF
