I think there are different/creative ways to do fishing photography...I am not sure about new. One that comes to mind right off is capturing the pic while lipping or dip-netting the fish from the water. Just some little different pose or angle than the usual face to face, stick the fish in the camera pic. Try different poses, angles, and lighting. Be creative.
