    Default battery

Very bad idea as other have stated. I once tried to neutralize a small 6volt battery with baking soda. I used a whole box and it was almost the same size as the battery and there was still unneutralized acid all over, basically it didnt make a dent in the acid and the acid was still oozing out from every internal part. Its not that simple.

Maybe that's what happened to Jimmy Hoffa. Someone used him as a weight to hold down Crappie beads. I can hear it now. Ok Jimmy, we are going to make you some special concrete boots, and make sure that you stick your arms straight out from your side like a tree. We would like to catch some Crappie off of you. Battery .......... very bad idea.

Batteries are considered hazardous cargo for a reason. It is definitely illegal to 'introduce' that kind of stuff into Corps waters and could cost you plenty! I would venture to say that any waters it would be illegal, but I'm not sure on that.

As sportsmen, we vow to do all we can to uphold all that there is related to the improvment of fish and game. Placing batteries will defile these same waters and, in my humble opinion, is not consistent with that philosophy.

Please consider using something non-toxic like rocks, cement or concrete blocks. The more natural the better. I'm even thinking of using rocks exclusively. I can take a cordless drill with a concrete bit and bore holes in sandstone found on site to weight trees.

In the event that you just pullin' our chains, well, you got plenty of responses, eh? If you have already done this, please post the gps numbers sos we will know not to go there. lol

So here's to building good, productive fish habitat! <><

PS: I wouldn't move to Texas. They don't have enough water.
