Well, we are back in business! I got the concrete mixer fixed today. Turns out it was missing a pin that keeps the pulley from spinning on the shaft of the motor. I guess we've been using it so much that it worked it's self loose and fell out at some point. Found a pin and got it replaced. We should have the remaining 30 crappie condos poured sometime next week.

The last of the bamboo has been cut, hauled to school, and made into Crappie Condos. Now all that is left is to get them into Lake Greeson.

btw.....I've e-mailed everyone the waypoints that has PM'd me up to this point.

AgriHawg, I have to commend you highly for sharing your fishing holes with others on here. Even with a mixer, it's a fair amount of work doing everything you are doing!
I never give out my spots - but the majority of what I put out is for clients anyway, so that would be wrong to tell anyone. I've even had a tourney fisherman offer a bribe if I would map him out some spots on Smith Lake!
I do have a few places I work on for myself though. I use PVC instead of bamboo, but keep going back to it and trying to add a little more to it each time I go, since I don't seem to get to go all that often. Am I just too selfish since I feel like I do too much work on them to have someone else be catching all those fish while I'm not there - and the PVC is much easier to place than that bamboo! I do often put on a face mask and my fins and dive down when I place it - but sometimes just attach half a brick and throw it over the side.

fishingholebuilder, this is a project between the Corp of Engineers and Centerpoint FFA. Basically, it's a community service, environment, job shadowing, etc. project for my students. These aren't my personal spots.

I do have a few, and I mean very few personal spots on Lake Degray that I put in with Scrapper and my dad. But those spots were done on our own time with our own concrete, buckets, etc. and before this project started. Honestly, I think the FFA & Corp spots are just as good as my personal ones.

We are finished building for the Corp. We just have to help finish putting them in the water.

    Attention...Attention...Attention

I have the GPS coordinates for Lake Greeson! Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you the file. The file is ".gpx" and works with ExpertGPS and EasyGPS.

We did build 80+ bamboo crappie condos for Greeson. However, there are only 45 locations in the file. I was only with the Corp while they put out the first half of the condos and I know they didn't take coordinates on each one. If they dropped two condos close (10-40ft) together they only took the coordinates on one of them. I'm guessing the Corp did the same thing when they went out and dropped the rest of them in the lake. I would have rather had coordinates on each and every condo. If we do this again in the spring, I'm going to make sure we get GPS locations on every one. Live and Learn.

BTW...If anybody does good fishing off of these spots and happens to take a picture of their catch, please send it to me so I can show my students. Thanks!

    Good luck fishing!

Wish we could get the COE and Local FFA involved on Nimrod Lake.

You might try proposing the idea to your local ag. teacher or COE guys. Show them the how we built them and volunteer to help. You could be their "consultation expert".
