First weekend in May if I can find any of them with the SI unit. I will save you some screen shots of them. And pass them along with info on how well I did off them.
Man those are going to hold fish year around.
Best of luck with these glad to see the kids are getting in on this also.

AgriHawg, I really want the GPS coordinates on Gleason. Never fished the lake but plan on it. Would be nice to have some spots to try.

WhitePerchJerker, we should have the bamboo crappie condos in Lake Greeson by the first of May. I'll have the waypoints available then.

My dad and I got a chance to fish some of the crappie condos today. We wound up with 25 although they ran a little small. Not to bad for them being in the water only a week. Also, I think most of them are a little deep for the crappie right now. Everyone else crappie fishing was fishing ALOT shallower than we were. 'Course I didn't see very many of them catching fish either.

Also, the word must be really getting out about our project. We had several people ask us if we knew anything about the Corp putting out bamboo.

    Attention...Attention...Attention

I now have a file containing waypoints to all of the bamboo crappie condos on Lake Degray. This file is in .gpx format. It is compatible with the easyGPS and expertGPS software programs. I should have a file soon with them in text format in an Excell spreadsheet.

If you would like a copy of this file, just PM me your e-mail address. IT IS FREE.

Also, if you ever see some students in blue corduroy FFA jackets, tell them thanks for the hard work!

    UPDATE

We have a temporary halt in progress. We have over 50 of the crappie condos built for Lake Greeson. However, our concrete mixer has broken down on us. It was a little old to start with and we've definately given it a work out! Until I can fix it, or find a replacement we're on halt.

If we can pitch in a few bucks to help fix it please let me know. I will be glad to give $20 or so toward fixing this one. or renting one. I bet a rental center would be let you use one. It would be good for them as they get in the news.
Looking forward to fishing Degray this weekend.

Why has it been halted? Sounds like to me it is time to break out the old fashioned concrete mixer, a wheelbarrow and a hoe. All them young strong backs at your disposal you ought to be pumping out them boo buckets. You could call it a character building exercise.

Don't fret guys, we'll be back going in no time. I've just got to get a chance to fix it, or buy a new one. We've poured a few with the "strong back, weak mind" concrete mixer already. The only problem is it's A LOT messier, and we're doing this first period of the day. I try not to send the kids to their classes too dirty. It just doesn't look good....know what I mean?

Also, our Corp. of Engineers rep, is also temporarily out of commission too. Prayers for him would be appreciated.

I understand the getting dirty part. It wasn't all that long ago when I was leaving ag class to go to the "other" classes covered in potting soil, or oil and grease. Thank goodness when I took masonry it was the last class of the day.
