Well I have put some out and plan on putting more out next week. My thought is you don't own it but some people are looking for a free ride and will take more then their share every chance they get and plus let the country side know about these hotspots, which will deplete the bigger crappie quicker. Some people will respect what you have done and fish it only to catch a mess to eat. As for them high dollar sonars, not many crappie fishermen have them and most don't have any electronics at all and if you find the titanic let us know! Just teasing. As for marking them I always take my floats home.

the first step to getting help is to admit you have a problem......bow your head and repeat after me,,
I am a failure as a man. I have fished my whole life and have to resort to stealing other mens places, because I couldn't find my own fish if they were swimming in a bucket. Please forgive me, because I wasn't raised properly and just don't know any better..take me fishing and show me what I need to know to feed all the neighbors and then I can feel better about myself.
If this makes you laugh,,,then you know exactly the context of it.
if it makes you angry,,,,,, then there is probably just a little sliver of truth in it.
I personally would,,,,,,ummm,,,,,,never put anything in the lake and expect to be able to find it again and fish it. so, I don't have to worry about it. I would expect them to be found by you as soon as you saw me wandering around looking for a standing tree to tie up to anyway. you should all be ashamed for not leaving them sticking out of the water,so people like me wouldn't have search for them or beg for coordinates,,, what is a gsp anyway?

So I am riding down the lake. I see a brush pile on my fish finder. I am supposed to wait to fish it till its rightful owner shows up and gives me permission to fish it or offers me to let him help him make more? If I find it I am gonna fish it.

By the same token, I think that I pizzed two guys off the other day. They found one of THE LAKE'S new bamboo condos that I put in. I asked if they had caught any fish off of it. They said no. I told them that it didn't surprise me, I just put in two days ago. They packed in an left.

What was this thread about anyway, I have already forgot?

It was about putting something in shallow water to catch fish. I have never used stakes, but I noticed a picture in the latest issue of crappie and the stakes were really close together. lets say I wanted one, maybe 3x3 feet. would a dozen stakes be better than 50? thats what the picture looked like.

check out our hedge hog at j and j habitat, not trying to sell you anything but it is a horizontal attractor that works well in shallow water. you can make your own.

Are you trying to improve the habitat for the crappie, so they can grow bigger, or are you trying to have your own private spot that you think you Own a deed to because you spent your time putting it out. You can pop bottle whatever you want, and anybody with A humminbird SI unit will laugh at you while they are fishing your structure.

Nice technique too Bigfish. Why don't you trash up the lake while your at it. And hopefully it's one of the small bottle that some people won't see, and the string will get into someone's prop and do a couple hundred dollars damage. You seem like a guy that's really looking out for his fellow man. Hat's off to you big guy.

Every time this comes up I'm really surprised at the calibur of the people who'll go to any length to stop people from fishing the crap they drop in. Last year people were talking about carrying guns.

I'd love to watch a guy pull up his brush pile and move it. Great idea.

Buy some land, put a pond on it, and fill the pond in with brush. Then it's yours. If you can't do that, carry a box of tissue in your boat.

I have heard of these boys on nimrod threating to move there brush piles and raising cane and I have watched them fish all kinds of other peoples stuff along with all the natural structure. You heard of people that are scared to death somebody else is going to catch a limit, These are them folks,
I've started down the bank of a cove when the fish were in the brush and have this guy fly to the other side so he could meet me in the end of the cove, Twice one day, They spend more time worrying about what everbody else is doing than doing there on thing.
    CATCH,CATCH,CATCH,CATCH,CATCH if you can't catch'em enjoy trying
