    Default Making structures advice welcomed!

My first crappie attractor. Made out of a pallet.

Not sure where to drop it other than 8-12 feet. Are points or flats good?

Hmm…I would say flats so it will lay right. Are ya gonna add any weight like block cause that looks like it might drift as light as it is. JM2C

Sorry for delay I plan on added two blocks to keep it down. I was thinking flats. How deep should I put them?

I’ve done the same thing, but added light brush to some of them . A bit of advice. Don’t put it together till you get in the boat . It’s in the way and you break pieces off . 6 foot or deeper flatter bottom near a break line .
The truth is hard to accept, so is life .

I didn’t think about possible breaking them until on the boat!! Thanks!! The others I’ll keep that in mind

I've done this exact method many times and it's really a PIA when ya get everything on the boat and ready to sink um. They take more blocks then you will think!

An easy method I've found is take a cinder block and tie some cedar limbs to it drop and go....easy and the fish love it!

Hedge apple also known as Osage Orange would work well too. Unfortunately here in Ohio it’s prohibited to put out structure

Go to the TWRA website, type in Habitat, scroll down to Old Hickory Lake. The article doesn't say how deep the water is where the condos are dropped. They are 10 ft tall and 10 ft diameter. Suppose to look like an old tree. Grouped in 3 to 5. Loaded with fish in 24 hours.
Better photos on their face book page.

So I have enough to make 3 maybe four. I got 8 blocks so hopefully it will sink them. Should I spread them out or group them together?

Also what do y’all think about these two areas? 11-15 feet deep (yellow)
