I just scored over 700 pieces of Fiber Optic 2 inch orange pipe and it seems to have neutral buoyancy, but it does float. Has anyone used this to create structure and what has worked best? I actually made a moving tree by just tying a knot in parachute twine every 8 inches and tying a 3 foot piece of this pipe with a hole drilled in the middle horizontally, and adding a small 6 ounce bottle tied to the top( anchored by a cinder block). I made this "Tree" 8 feet tall and on windy days I go over it and can see it moving cause the water is clear.

For another design, if I drilled the holes in the End of the pipe and tied a knot every 8 inches, i would end up with a vertical tree that would move with the current. I guess it would end up looking at giant weeds flowing in the current

Anyone ever try using structure that has movement to it like this? Should I just stick to cementing 8-12 pieces of pipe in a bucket of cement?
