    I would like to take this chance introduce myself and am pleased to meet everyone.


    I am starting my gears on building and placing structure.... But what makes a good location?

    Dropoffs, Creek channels, Staging areas, Humps, etc. I like to set mine in a variety of places that are good at different times of the year. It they attract quicker if there is not much natural cover in the area. I also like to put some in staging areas where they can hang in the spring until they make a run to the brush!

    3's is right, if you wanna catch good crappie all year, definately stage at different depths. Think of them as hotels for old people, when it gets cold they go South. So do the fish, they go deep. When its warm, they come home. The fish spawn then feed.

    Thank you for the help. That really does make sense, that helps with the temperature part of my dilemma and saves time because i was prepared for two locations to place the structure and it seems the answer is to go up. Looks like i can go back to the drawing board again and re-think a bit more. That really helps me a lot.
