if you choose to use oil or antifreeze jugs please thoroughly rinse them out 1st... also keep in mind that water pressure increases with depth.

Yes, I made several "" stumps"" that were only 2ft for shallow water. We have huge draw downs on one of our local lakes. I love fishing bamboo. It is extremely forgiving. I have put out almost 100 in one lake and 15 or so in another. I have around 30 more to put in then in and just freshen up every couple of years.

not sure how long the jug would last. not the jug itself but tying it off to the small part of tree brush with the force it will pull, it might get loose. but i would use laundry jugs. they are thick, seal good and have a solid handle to tie off to.
cedar limbs, trees last a long time if you have any to trim or cut down.
