Guess the answer is a mystery... or I'm being shunned

Any structure will hold fish better than no structure. One bit of advice is to rough up any plastic to hasten algae growth. I think that you might be better off with two or three smaller pieces at different depths to offer some diversity.

No your not being shunned we or may I say I don't know really how you are making. It would be good to see a picture of what you are talking about making. But like Clint said any structure is better than none. Sometimes algae will grow fast on plastic,pvc,etc. but it really depends on the lake it self as it grows faster in different water clarity and different depths. Roughing up any slick PVC or plastic bucket will help algae get a holt and start its growth. The denser you can make fish habit the better the fish can hide in like brush tops with a lot of limbs. It is much like a game of hide and seek the small fish,crayfish,minnows,etc. are hiding from the bigger fish. Read and look at the posts in this forum there were a lot of ideas and pictures of fish habitat. As the old saying goes"Build it and they will come". Hope this helps you out a little and let us know how you come out with catching fish on your fish Habitat.

I think those in a group will be just fine...we have had great success with a large center Post and Plastic branches off of it.
The same principle applies to ridged Black Plastic tube, you still need to cut it deep with 60 grit sandpaper so that Algae can really get a grip and establish strong colonies.

Thank you. That is the answer to the question that I wasn't sure how to ask. My first instinct was that 1 might attract, lets say 10 fish, but 8 or 10 might attract 100 fish. Not sure how many crappie are really in there. I catch one pulling cranks once in a while. Didn't want to invest $ and time for a small population.
