Just curious as I wish I was smart enough to produce these images, but I've at least benefitted from studying them on the area of the lake I fish. I love technology when fishing a body of water as large as Kentucky Lake. I'm no longer afraid to leave the banks.
Once you put some thing in a public lake, it is no longer yours. I too have put out several crappie beds just to come back and find other people fishing on it. But if you get worked up about it every time that happens, you will spend all of your fishing time being pissed off. That's why I use plastic for my crappie beds. They are VERY hard to find with most sonar units. You can see them if you zoom way up and set the gain way up. But most people dont use them like that. Have lost some good friends over crappie beds. Just not worth loosing good friends over them. If some one finds one of my beds, I will just make more and try to do a better job hiding them. LOL
Have a crappie day!:D [email protected]
I don't mind someone fishing one of my tops if they find it but what I hate is to come out and find a pop bottle or chunk of styrofoam floating on top of it! If I wanted to advertised it's location I would have done it myself.
CATCH A BIG-UN
This works for me, you guys can take it or leave it put out some bed that are visible just away from the honey holes you plan to fish. people that don't know the area will camp out on them most of the time, and not try to find underwater structure. I have literally pulled into a cove and there been 3 boats on visible structure, not catching anything, and I go to my underwater spot, and catch a limit in an hour or so. the fish are going to move to the least pressured spot, so they run a lot of fish to you tops.
just what I do. little more work, but it can pay off in a big way.
p
I caught fish yesterday off some of my own structure, I lost all rights to that spot when I put it in. I have 30+ spots that I am making or adding to. I bet that some of those spots were started by someone else. I do not get angry when somebody finds one of mine. I just find another one, fishing is for fun. I will not let a little thing like that ruin my day. THE BANDIT

"This one thing I know, and that is Jesus Christ and Him crucified."
Sounds to me like that guy, fitted with a pair of concrete boots, might make pretty good structure himself, if placed in a good part of the lake.
Move the markers. I always have string and weights if needed and place to marker off 100 or more feet away. I have people see my boat ,that know I'm catching fish. They motor out of their way to see where I'm fishing. Try dropping your own marker. Then move it when you leave. Ha!Ha! Sure is comical to see them fishing nothing but a stupid marker. I wecome help with brushpiles ,but never get but a couple that will help. Except to help fish what we put out. They are really not our brushpiles after we sink them. But it does hurt when locals too dam lazy to put any out take them over.Originally Posted by slabbandit

I Use Pvc And Most Guys Don't Find My Beds. Used Wood For Years
And Had The Same Problems You Mentioned. I Don't Own The Lake
And If People Find Them They Will Fish My Beds. I Just Try And Make It As Difficult As I Can For Them To Find My Stuff.
