    Default crappie condos?

I plan on doing some condos but need to pick your heads fist. I've dumped Christmas trees for years and have recently purchased a house with bamboo. I gave up on using buckets filled with concrete but instead drill a hole in a concrete step put a heavy duty zip tie through it and tie two to three trees to it. Depending on there size. My question is doing the same with the block, drilling holes in the bamboo will it work and how many can I tie to the block before it floats the block? I'll tie the bamboo with zip ties or twine.

When you say 'concrete step' I see a solid piece of concrete...no holes, 2-3" thick, maybe 6"x12"? That works for trees because the branches will hold them off the bottom. Bamboo tied to a flat rock will just lay on the bottom, and I don't think that is what you want. Bamboo has to stand up, I think, and you will have to help it do that.

You are correct on the block. I drill a hole so that I can put a zip tie through the hole and use that to tie a rope to the zip ties and the trees and use a 2 liter coke bottle to float the trees. I was guessing that the bamboo would float itself. I guess I could do the same but use smaller coke bottles on each one.

Almost anything we sink that is natural...trees, bamboo, brush, etc....will get waterlogged and sink. I think I've seen pics here that show some of the bamboo condos. Guys cut the bottom out of a bucket and set it on the ground. Then they pour 4-5" of concrete into the bucket and right on top of the ground. Then they put a bunch of boo into the wet concrete.

Wooden stakes in buckets out last Bamboo by several times . Using old used concrete blocks to sink bundles of Bamboo zip tied to them work good . Use plastic bucket lids with holes to spread Bamboo.
