Default I've been playing with some new designs.

I haven't been making many beds lately but got bored the other day and made a few.

They hold fish pretty good once they get a good coating algae, although not quite a well as my wood beds, but they don't eat many jigs. As locator technology improves they are getting easier for others to find. Or in the case of my favorite bed (about a dozen of these on a junction of two creek channels), I've been seen fishing it too many times. Two boats have been spider rigging the area heavily the past few weekends. I've had several people see me catching fish and come over to visit, then they plot the spot on their GPS.

Guess I'll put out some more beds in a new location.

I can see pvc and other plastic on my newer unit. Granted it is hard to see but I know it is there and what it is since I have seen it out of the water as well.

That's why you have to "Hide" your cover and not put it out where people can find it!
We would hide cover because we DIDN'T want people fishing it....we put the cover in TO HELP THE LAKE, NOT for FISHERMEN to use!

There are things you can do....HEAVY sanded, Vertical Plastic tubing, or PVC, in buckets OR Milk Crates, and Plastic Skids...all of these are close to the same density as water, with it being hollow and with a good layer of algae to absorb the signals, it is extremely hard to find! You can also use hole saws and add holes, which allows even more signals to pass through.
Putting the "Plastic" in trenches, drop-offs, in rocky areas, or areas with vegetation, WOOD, stumps, etc., will effectively HIDE IT from ANY electronic system. About the only sure-fire way of finding OUR PLASTIC cover is a underwater camera in clear water.
Wood, grass, trees, stumps, rocks, steel, and other cover, is EASY to find because like a fish's swim bladder, there is a BIG Difference in the densities compared to water....the radar or sonar waves, are set to detect these densities compared to water, and will bounce and reflect back, easily showing them! Think of this as "STEALTH" cover!

If you have Organic stained, or muddy water, that will also help to deflect electronic signals...then with proper construction and location, cover can be hidden!

Our lake is about 2500 acres of Organic (high algae content) stained, fertile, water....Our cover Projects went on for 10+ years....we have guys with some of the Best BIG $$$ systems on the market...ZERO of the locations that we purposely hid are visible....ZERO....you are talking thousands of pieces of Plastic!
We still have people (idiots) that are trying to find "Plastic" cover that we put in to hide from them....they are just wasting time!
We used these BIG $$$ systems to locate areas, GPS, and drop cover exactly where we wanted! If I didn't have the GPS, you would never know something was there!

Like I said, it is easy to find when you have seen it out of the water. My home lake is drawn down 25' in winter and I duck hunt out there. Thermocline in summer sets up at 12' so if it is holding a fish at that time I have seen it without water on it. There are no secrets on that lake.

Next time I am over some 3/4" pvc stake beds I will take a screen shot of it.

MDC places several hundred large cedars every March on Pomme De Terre. They use a large pontoon with a dump bed. I use to supplement their locations, but now they frequently supplement mine. I've got several beds with cedars on top of them, but they post the GPS coordinates. I still put out oak tops from the trees I cut for wood and stake beds.
